To get the unique conversation number (Channel ID for private messages) in the Discord mobile app, you must first activate Developer Mode.
Step 1: Enable Developer Mode
Before you can copy identifiers, you must unlock this feature in settings:
Open the Discord app and tap your avatar in the bottom right corner.
Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner.
Scroll down to the App Settings section and select Advanced.
Toggle the switch for Developer Mode.
Step 2: Copy the conversation number (Channel ID)
Once developer mode is active, you can get the ID of any conversation:
Go to your Direct Messages (DM) list.
For Android: Long press on the conversation in the list (without entering it) or click the username at the top of the open chat, then select Copy Channel ID from the menu that appears.
For iOS: Open the conversation, tap the username at the very top of the screen, then click the three dots (...) and select Copy Channel ID.
How to Get a DM Channel ID on Discord Desktop
Step 1: Enable Developer Mode
Before you can see internal IDs, you must enable the developer tools in your client settings:
Open User Settings (the gear icon next to your avatar).
In the left sidebar, scroll down to Advanced (under App Settings).
Toggle the Developer Mode switch to ON.
Step 2: Copy the Conversation ID
Once Developer Mode is active, you can extract the DM number in two ways:
From the Sidebar: Right-click on the specific user's conversation in your DM list and select Copy Channel ID at the bottom of the menu.
From the Message Header: While in the chat, right-click the user's name at the very top of the screen and select Copy Channel ID.
